Re: Ashmole Primary School ‘Community Information and Feedback Session’
Wednesday 20th July 4.30pm-8.00pm
Ashmole Primary School is a new two form entry school that will open this September 2016 with 60 pupils. The school will open in temporary accommodation, which will be provided by McAvoy. This public consultation is for the proposed permanent building which will eventually accommodate up to 420 pupils.
We aim to provide a happy, safe and stimulating environment where children will benefit from a well-balanced curriculum that develops the enquiring minds and talents of all pupils. The school will provide innovative and creative approaches to primary education, especially taking advantage of the links with Ashmole Academy. There will be a special emphasis on the teaching of English and Mathematics, but also Science, Spanish, Music and P.E. The school has 60 pupils starting in September with 30 pupils on a continued waiting list. The school will also lead a breakfast club and a range of after school clubs.
The Education Funding Agency (EFA) is the Government Agency responsible for the procurement and building of the new primary school. The proposed constructors of the primary school project are McAvoy.
Ashmole Primary will soon be submitting a full planning application for the new two form entry primary school and would like to give the local community the opportunity to see the emerging proposals and listen to comments and views before a formal submission to Barnet Borough Council. The plans will be on display in the Refectory at Ashmole Academy between 4.30pm and 8.00pm on Wednesday 20th July 2016.
Members of the project team from Ashmole Academy, Ashmole Primary School, the Education Funding Agency, design consultants, transport consultants and planning consultants will be present. We welcome you to come along with your comments and questions.
